Enclosure Studio

Parts first, box second. Place the parts of a small device, fit a printable enclosure around them, run measured checks, and keep a version only when every check passes.

      Intent name
      Intent notes

The intent is fixed when a design is created. Parts and settings change; the intent does not.

      Parts inside

Add a part (typical sizes, not datasheets)

No parts yet. Add one from the kit or load an example.

        Selected part

Select a part in the list, the view or a failing check.

        Enclosure settings (mm)

The enclosure stays where it is until you press Fit. Move a part and the checks measure it against the box you have.

        Export

STL parts come in print orientation: the base stands on its floor, the lid is flipped onto its top.

The build123d and OpenSCAD files cut the same openings and standoffs from the same numbers. With a corner radius above 0 they round the outside, the cavity, the rim and the skirt; the browser view and the STL files stay square. Both files are untested until you run them in your own Python or OpenSCAD. The build123d script also writes STEP files.

        For agents

A design is one JSON file with the schema aim.enclosure-design.v1. An agent, for example a local Amagine3D run, can write that file and you open it here with Import design.

Units are millimetres. x is right, y is depth (front is the smaller y), z is up. A part position is its lower front left corner. Opening offsets are the centre of the opening on that face of the part.

        Your data

Saved in this browser under the key enclosure-studio.v1. Download a backup often.

What this room does not do
        • No BRep or STEP here. That needs a CAD kernel. The build123d script makes STEP in your own Python.
        • No AI design from text or photos. You place the parts; the room measures.
        • No hinges, latches, screw bosses in the lid or motion checks. No 3MF colour regions.
        • Part sizes in the kit are typical sizes, not datasheets. Measure your own parts.
        • Checks use boxes around each part and each standoff. Rounded corners are only in the build123d and OpenSCAD files.
        • Each STL part is a set of touching plates, not one welded solid. Most slicers join them; check the preview in your slicer before printing.
