Build a worksheet for one product idea: your price and costs, the minimum order you'd have to buy, and how confident you are on demand, competition and risk. Get a plain verdict — Go, Test small or Pass — with the reason and the formula behind every number. No market data is invented; you enter it all.
Ad cost per sale
sale price − unit cost − shipping to customer − packaging − platform fee − payment fee − return cost − ad cost per sale. Platform fee = price × platform fee %. Payment fee = price × payment fee % + fixed fee. Return cost = price × return rate % (assumes a returned sale refunds the price; the other costs are already spent and are not recovered).contribution margin per unit ÷ sale price × 100(unit cost + packaging) × minimum order quantity — what you pay the supplier to place the MOQ ordercash needed up front ÷ contribution margin per unit — how many units you must sell to recover the MOQ spend(contribution margin per unit × minimum order quantity) ÷ cash needed up front × 100Set each score yourself from what you actually know. Weights decide how much each score counts toward the verdict — change them and the verdict updates.
—
If the margin per unit is $0 or less, the verdict is always "Pass" — no override lifts a loss. If the margin is positive but under 30% and the override is unchecked, the verdict is also always "Pass". Otherwise the six scores are combined into a weighted average (sum of score × weight ÷ sum of weights, 1–5 scale): 4.0 or higher is "Go", 2.5 to 4.0 is "Test small", below 2.5 is "Pass".| Name | Price | MOQ | Margin/unit | Margin % | Cash needed | Break-even | ROI at MOQ | Score | Verdict |
